About Lane

Lane Siekman is a strong advocate for those who need a voice in our society.. His straight forward manner mixes progressive action with fiscal conservatism and Hoosier common sense values. Lane is a fifth generation resident of tiny Ohio County, Indiana and his lifelong ties to Indiana give him insight into the challenges facing area residents and businesses.
After graduating from Rising Sun High School and working in a factory for a few years, Lane attended Ball State University and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in finance and economics. He began his professional career by working in the banking industry in Vevay, Indiana. Lane later went on to receive his law degree from Indiana University in 1990. He continued with his education and completed the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Course in 2010.

Today, Lane runs his own successful law practice in Rising Sun, works in economic development and is an adjunct instructor at Ivy Tech Community College.

An active member in his community, Lane is the past president of the Rising Sun Rotary Club, secretary of the Southeastern Indiana Regional Growth Alliance, a member of the Southeastern Indiana Regional Plan Commission, President of the Ohio County Historical Society, and is the Executive Director of the Ohio County Economic Development Corporation  He is also a Master Mason and the secretary of Rising Sun Lodge #6. From 2000 to 2005, Lane was on the board of directors for the Dearborn County Hospital Foundation in Lawrenceburg.

Lane met his wife, Robin Bingham while they both were attending Ball State University. Robin is a neonatal nurse in the Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Childrens' Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Married since 1982, Lane and Robin have three children. The oldest, Allison and Brenden, are fraternal twins. Allison is a librarian in Noblesville, Indiana and Brenden is currently serving on active duty in the United States Army. Caroline, their youngest, attends Rising Sun High School.  He is also a proud Grandfather with grandson Flynn born in 2016.

The family resides in Ohio County and attends the First United Church of Christ, where Lane serves as an Elder, lay speaker, and Consistory Board President.
