Our SHJS App is free, but unlike other free mobile apps, there are no advertisements and your account data will not be sold or made available to anyone outside of our school staff. Our app will not increase your digital footprint.

Below are links that will take you to our App at the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and a link for using our App from a Windows PC. Starting to use our App is a simple three step process.

1. Download the App.

2. Register for the App by creating a new account following the below instructions.

3. Upon entering the App, complete your user profile information.

Once you have downloaded our App, register for the App by tapping on the "Create New Account" text on the login page of the App. You will be sent a confirmation email to confirm your registration. Tap on the "Activate Account" Button on the email you receive and enter the password that you wish to use for the App.

You will then be automatically logged into the App. Once inside the app, Tap on the Profile icon on the bottom tab menu. Complete your User Profile information including adding a picture of yourself if you wish. Then tap on Choose Preferences text to decide if you would like to receive emails in addition to mobile notifications for content delivered to you. If you are planning to use a PC when using the app, you should leave email notifications turned on.

AscendSMS Notifications

posted Jan 14, 2016, 6:34 AM by Sacred Heart   [ updated Apr 29, 2016, 9:26 AM ]

Here is a document AscendSMS has provided when parents have issues receiving bulk emails from the Ascend system. Fuse continues to be an email provider who randomly flags Ascends' emails as spam. When this provider does this, the email in AscendSMS is check marked as an invalid email and Ascend will stop sending email notifications to that email address. We have similar issues with and zoomtown accounts. We recommend adding to your safe sender list. Although we in no way want to dictate what type of email our parents at the school use, we do recommend a Gmail account due to the security and ease of use when included on a bulk email distribution list. It is a rare situation for us to receive an email issue from a parent with a Gmail account. Fuse, and zoomtown have had the biggest issues with the email notifications.

As a reminder, you can at any time log into your Ascend account to check your students' grades if you for some reason are having trouble receiving the daily emails. You can also download the Ascend app to your phone.

We recommend also randomly logging into your AscendSMS account to ensure your email has not been marked "Invalid Email." If it has, you can uncheck it. But, please note the same issue may arise again if you haven't followed the steps provided by AscendSMS.

Principal updates emailed to parents are also posted on our new app as well.

Consider following us on Twitter at @SHJSFairfield. All upcoming events are posted on our app and noted via our Twitter account.

Our continued goal is to have multiple avenues to receive the same information.

Please contact with any questions you may have.

Sacred Heart now has a live Twitter account. You can follow us at @SHJSFairfield. Kevin and Lisa Frye will be hosting our Twitter account. Generally speaking, anything that is posted on our website or calendar will also be in a tweet on the Twitter account, e.g. any snow days/delays, holidays, out-of-uniform days, special programs, etc. If you would like us to consider forwarding out a specific tweet you compose via your personal Twitter account, tag @SHJSFairfield in your tweet and we can review and forward as needed to our followers. An example would be sign ups for a sports program that you would like sent out.

The website continues to be our main source of communication with our families, but this will give us another way to highlight specific upcoming dates and events to further increase our communication with our families.
