Doron, Amy - Dean of Students / Student Services Coordinator
A little bit about me... Hi! I'm Mrs. Doron! You are lucky to be involved in one of the greatest districts in our area and the BEST Pre-K-2nd grade school around! Our staff has high expectations and loves kids and it shows in everything we do.
I am the Dean of Students / Student Services Coordinator (also known as campus counselor). I am excited to be starting my second year at the Primary and my 7th year in Spring Hill ISD. Prior to working at this campus I worked at SH Intermediate as Music Teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal. I have 12 years total in education ranging from teaching pull-out reading groups to teaching 1st & 3rd grades. All that is to say, I love helping students and families succeed--and that is my main goal at SH Primary!
This position serves as a resource for students, their parents and the staff to help each child succeed whether that is through academics, behavior, character education, or nutrition.
As the year progresses I will be teaching character education topics to the students in a variety of ways (classroom lessons, lunch groups, morning announcements, and classroom challenges, etc).
I look forward to serving the families of Spring Hill Primary!
During the year I will visit each classroom once a month and lead our school in Fabulous Friday. Through both of these programs we help students to see and celebrate the great things they are accomplishing at SH Primary!
Character Traits we discuss include but are not limited to:
Individuality and Uniqueness
Throughout the year we participate in activities to help those around us that are in need. Here are a few events we participate in each year:
Mittens & Scarves Drive
Canned Food Drive
Coats for Kids
Letters to Santa for the Macy's Make a Wish Foundation
World Vision (raising money to purchase animals for villages in Africa)
Valentine's Day Cards for local Retirement and Nursing Homes
Hug Buddies Visits to Buckner to deliver Easter goodies to residents
As Counselor I also help to find resources for families in our school that are in need of food, clothing, or shelter. Each week our community funds the "Backpack Program" which sends home food with students to eat each weekend.
