What's Happening Now


 

Be sure to join us the Sunday for the annual Day of Caring Pancake Brunch. We have pancakes, sausage, applesauce, orange juice, milk and coffee waiting for you in Omega Hall. Tickets at the door are $6 for adults, and $4 for children and seniors. All dollars go directly to feed the hungry and homeless in our area.

 

Mark your calendars for our Annual Black American Contributions to the Family of God event, Friday, March 9 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. for a Song Fest! and Sunday, March 11 at 10:25 a.m. for a special worship service featuring music, exhibits, Praise Dancers, Community Advocates, meal and discussions. Our discussion leader is Father John Paddock of Christ Episcopal Church Dayton.

 

The League of Women Voters will have a focus group discussion partnering with the National Issues Forum Institute and the Kettering Foundation on poor voter turnout.  The discussion is called Where Have All the Voters Gone?, and the conversation is centered on voting trends and attitudes toward politics and on the implications of a disengaged voting populace for our democracy. You, as members of Shiloh are invited to participate in this discussion in Omega Hall on Sunday, March 11, from 1:30 to 3 P.M. Shiloh’s Front Porch Ministries Goes Inside on Saturday, March 3 for their next soup and salad luncheon! Cheeseburger Soup and Williamsburg Inn Turkey Soup. Lunch will be served from 11:00- 1:00, and then it is time for games and fellowship until 2 p.m. Bring a friend and your favorite game. As usual, donations will be accepted. Questions? Want to help? Have you loved reading aloud to your own children?  Now you can read to someone else's on Read Across America Day, Dr. Seuss's birthday!  Valerie Elementary needs volunteers to read to a class for about an hour on Friday, March 2, any time from 8 AM to noon.  You can choose any grade level, bring your own children's book or choose from those provided.  Wear red if you can.  Contact the church office at 277-8953
