2017 Payroll Deduction Plan

SCPS Announces 2017 Payroll Deduction Plan for Purchasing Home Technology
A Partnership with DuPont Community Credit Union

SCPS employees may purchase personal laptops, iPads, desktops, printers, etc. through a payroll deduction plan developed through DuPont Community Credit Union. The window of opportunity for this program opens on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, and closes on Friday, September 1, 2017.

  • Items are available from Apple and Dell and are like those technologies already found in SCPS classrooms and offices.

  • The maximum amount which may be financed through this program is $2,500.

  • The program is open to all SCPS full-time employees.

  • Participants will select to have the loan payment deducted from their paychecks over a 10 month or 22 month period.

  • **The interest rate is 3.99% except for those employees who open a checking account (or already have an existing checking) and have their direct deposit with DCCU.  Regarding the 0% interest it is important you understand that the direct deposit coming to a new checking account must be your primary checking, it can’t just be the amount of your payment that is being deposited.  Also, you must not have taken a tech loan in the past 36 months.  If you used this program last year, you are not eligible to receive the 0% financing this year.**

  • To participate, employees must be a member of DCCU or become a member by opening a savings account with a minimum deposit of $5 (this is your ownership share in the credit union).

  • Items in this program are offered, for the most part, at a savings over normal consumer prices.

  • All orders must be placed and paperwork must be signed by Friday, September 1.

  • Payroll deduction will begin with the September 29, 2017, paychecks.

  • Employees who terminate service with Shenandoah County Public Schools prior to the completion of their loan period agree to have the remaining balance deducted from their final paycheck.

  • Equipment selection, setup, and maintenance are the responsibility of the participant, not the SCPS Technology Staff.
