SCPS Announces 2018 Payroll Deduction Plan for Purchasing Home Technology
A Partnership with DuPont Community Credit Union


SCPS employees may purchase personal laptops, iPads, desktops, printers, etc. through a payroll deduction plan developed through DuPont Community Credit Union. The window of opportunity for this program opens on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, and closes on Friday, August 31, 2018.

  • Items are available from Apple and Dell and are like those technologies already found in SCPS classrooms and offices.

  • The maximum amount which may be financed through this program is $2,500.

  • The program is open to all SCPS full-time employees.

  • Participants will select to have the loan payment deducted from their paychecks over a 10 month or 22 month period.

  • **The interest rate is 5.99% for all employees.

  • Items in this program are offered, for the most part, at savings over normal consumer prices.

  • All orders must be placed and paperwork must be signed by Friday, August 31.

  • Employees who terminate service with Shenandoah County Public Schools prior to the completion of their loan period agree to have the remaining balance deducted from their final paycheck

  • Equipment selection, setup, and maintenance are the responsibility of the participant, not the SCPS Technology Staff.

  • The vendor or purchaser sends the quote to “Technology Loan” email group at TechLoanAdmin@mydccu.com and a DCCU employee will reach out to School employee to begin the loan application/account opening process. This year, DuPont is offering convenient account opening at your school sites or the central office for new participants if desired. Otherwise, existing Members may visit the Woodstock branch or complete a loan online.

  • Loan proceeds are disbursed to employees DCCU account.

  • The employee will be responsible for paying the vendor directly

  • Payroll deduction will begin with the October 2018 paychecks.

  • Can products be ordered from more than one vendor? Yes, just as long as the grand total doesn't exceed $2,500.

  • Can products be ordered for other family members using this plan, such as a child going to college? Yes

  • Can I purchase technology items on this program with a credit card instead of through payroll deduction? Yes

  • Can SCPS install Microsoft Office on a home computer purchased under this program? No, Microsoft does not allow this. The Academic version of MS Office can be purchased online using these directions:

  3. Buy the software and download Microsoft Professional Plus 2016
