Honors geometry is a high school credit course incorporating modeling, visualization, spatial reasoning, and logic to solve different types of problems. As an honors class, the scope of the course will surpass the standards set by the Virginia SOLs. For instance, students will be expected to write detailed deductive proofs to justify geometric relationships. Honors geometry is offered to students who have already completed Algebra I. These students are expected to think independently in order to build their own understanding of concepts as they are presented, discussed, and practiced. The Geometry SOL test will be taken at the end of this course. Upon its completion, students are ready to take Algebra II.
