New Announcements:

FBLA will have its next (mandatory) meeting on Wednesday, January 24th at 7:15 AM in Mrs. Jensen's room. All FBLA members are expected to attend and be there on time as we have several agenda items to get through in a short amount of time. If you are interested in attending SLC, you must be present for this meeting unless you clear it with Mrs. Jensen. If you do not show up and did not let Mrs. Jensen know 24 hours in advance, you will not be considered for attending SLC. Football players will be able to be dismissed at 7:40 in order to attend their Leadership meeting at 7:45. 

The blood mobile will be at the Legion Hall next Wed. January 24, 2018 from noon to 6 pm.  Please see Sydnie Adams if you are interested in signing up.  High School students can sign up to donate blood if you are at least 16 and have filled out a form and had it signed by a parent.  Forms will be in the front office.

Any 6th or 7th grade Junior High girl who would like to take part in the Spring Volleyball league in Columbus, please have forms filled out and turned in to Coach Schueth or Coach Kuhnel by Friday, January 19th. Thanks! 

Students attending the CRC basketball tournament this week and next are asked to sit on the lower section of bleachers at the York Auditorium directly across from our team's bench.

2017-18 year books are on sale for $40 until April 2.  You can purchase a yearbook from Mrs. Hofmann. Beginning April 3 yearbooks will be on sale for $45 until April 30. 

Congratulations to Garrett Ingalls for making State FFA Honor Choir. He will be representing SRC at State FFA Convention in April.

SRC Basketball Shirt order forms are available in the front office of the school or from Lisa Johnston.  The orders will be processed and submitted in the order they are received. Completed order forms and payments may be turned in to Lisa Johnston or to Sue Topil in the school office.  Please contact Lisa Johnston with any questions at 402-276-5113. There are no youth sizes listed on the order form, but these are available upon request.

AKSARBEN is accepting applications for people interested in completing an internship throughout the AKSARBEN Stock show.  Positions include: 
1 - Stock show education and events Intern.  This is a summer position with a requirement to attend the stock show and assist in after show wrap up functions.  40 hours per week with extended hours during and immediately preceding the event in Omaha and Grand Island.
2 - Social Media & Public Relations Intern.  This is a summer internship with a requirement to attend the stock show and assist in after show wrap up functions.  40 hours per weekwith extended hours during and immediately preceding the event in Omaha and Grand Island.

Certified Nursing Assistant Training - 3 sessions are available for those over the age of 16 to receive training in this area.  Classes are Jan. 8-Jan. 29, Feb. 19 - Mar. 12 or Apr. 2-Apr. 26.  If you are interested in more details please stop in and pick up a flyer from Mrs. Voss

South Dakota State has just announced students from Nebraska can now attend for in-state tuition costs!  If you haven't, maybe check out the programs of study offered there.

Clarkson College Experience give them a chance to connect with students considering a career in health care.  The event will be Jan. 26 from 9 a.m. to Noon.  Take this opportunity to visit campus and visit with faculty in program areas such as Nursing, Physical Therapist Assistant, Health Information Management, Health Care Business Management, Health Care Services or Radiologic Technology and Medical Imaging.  You can register to attend this event at ClarksonCollege.edu/experience OR text "start" to 402.769.2520.  See Mrs. Voss if you have other questions.

Attorney General Peterson will host a day-long conference for a selected number of juniors from across the state.  During the conference you will have an opportunity to participate in discussion and debate on topics such as the U.S. Constitution, rights, responsibilities and critical issues facing students and communities.

Any juniors interested in state government, leadership and law are encouraged to submit an application.  Those interested can obtain an application from Mrs. Voss. Applications are due Jan. 31, 2018.
