                                           150 contestants and 31 teams from the region participated!

 

                                                        

                                                        In SMST 2017 170 contestants and 34 teams from all over the region participated!  

In SMST 2016, 143 Contestants and 25 Teams from the region participated. 

In SMST 2015, 107 Contestants and 20 Teams from the region participated.

About SMST: 
Sharon Math and Science Tournament is a math and science competition for middle schools. The tournament is organized and conducted by the SMST club, Sharon High School, 181 Pond Street, Sharon, MA 02067. There are an overwhelming amount of math or science competitions but not both. SMST is the first of its kind in the region with hands-on activities. Our SMST committee at Sharon High School is fully committed in giving back to the community in our region by empowering the younger teens with STEM by using SMST as a platform. 


Inspiration: 
This is an excellent opportunity to compete against other middle school students in a STEM focused competition.  Also, there are many tournaments  and opportunities for high school students to demonstrate their math and science skills, but it is hard to find for middle school students in our region. So, this tournament challenges middle school students with math and science problems and gets them to think out of the box and feel high school ready. We believe that math & science are inseparable and complimentary to each other.
