GREAT Citizen Science

  


Citizen Science is the collection and/or analysis relating to the natural world by members of the general public, typically as part of a collaborative project with professional scientists.  

The Suntree Study Site is a 114 acres parcel of land that is has the possibility of being developed.  As a result of the development pressure, GREAT was created, GREAT stand for Greenspace Environmental Advocacy Task Force.  Since October of 2015 the Space Coast Eco-Geeks have been using Camera traps to capture images of animals in and around the Gopher Tortoise burrows.  

Become citizen scientists and help us analyze the animals in our photos.  Below is a link to a simple photo ID guide that will aid your quest and well as a link to the form that you will use to analyze the photos.  

How to:

  1. Click on the link and select a folder and a picture.  Be sure to remember he file name of the photo and the folder it came from
  2. Examine the photo and then fill in the form below to record your data.
