Welcome to Brevard Public Schools Elementary Science Resources 2.0

The Brevard Public Schools’ science goal is to provide students with a well-balanced K-6 curriculum, which is aligned with Florida’s Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for Science. To develop science literacy in our students, they are actively involved in inquiry investigations that teach the content as well as the essential process skills. The district adopted programs, National Geographic Science for K-5 and Discovery Education Science Techbook for grade 6, includes multiple hands-on, minds-on activities that provide science content and real-world connections.

Grade 6 resources available from our Summer 2012 Curriculum Updating Team.  These  resources are hot off the press and include Sample Instructional guides for Physical, Life, and Earth/Space sciences.  We have also created a document called "Science Start-up" to help you get started with your Science year.  Science Start-up includes Nature of Science, notebooking, safety, tools and measurement, and more!  These documents include full lesson samples using DE and other resources.  They are meant as a sample guide for you to download and personalize with your own resources.  The documents are still a work in progress, and we will be updating the format and content throughout the summer and school year.
