Land Use Laws:  Assist and advise local governments and developers with respect to enacting, implementing, and amending state and local land use laws and regulations pertaining to zoning, planning, and development, including, specifically the Growth Management Act, Shoreline Management Act, State Environmental Policy Act, and the Endangered Species Act.

Dispute Resolution and Litigation:  Represent corporations and individuals on complex and contested land use issues, including siting and permitting for solid waste facilities and gravel pits, permit denials and conditions, impact fees, and regulatory takings.

Real Estate Transactions and Documentation.  Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements.  Negotiate and prepare easements, restrictive covenants, and other legal agreements.

Leasing.  Draft and negotiate commercial and residential leases for landlords and tenants; assist in resolution of lease disputes.

Planning and Development:  Plan and direct the development of all residential development in the ~6500 acre master planned resort community known as “Suncadia.”  Assist with property acquisition strategies and implementation.  Manage permit acquisition and approvals.  Negotiate and ensure compliance with development agreements and land use approvals. 

Management: Oversee and manage consultants, engineers, architects, and construction supervisors on platting, site plan development, parks, homesite preparation, and vertical construction.  Coordinate with construction managers and consultants on design, engineering, permitting, bidding, and contracting. 

Legal Services and Compliance.  Handle procurement and provision of legal services for Suncadia with the objective of ensuring quality legal services at reasonable costs.  Provide legal counsel on development permitting, mitigation compliance, water rights, and land aquisition.  Draft easements and covenants.
