About The Teacher

Teaching Experience

I have been teaching for over 30 years, and I still get a thrill from preparing for the new school year! There is something about the smell of new books, freshly sharpened pencils and the happy expectation that goes hand in hand with a new beginning!! I was raised in Great Britain where I completed a B. A. Hons. in English and Religious Studies, and completed my teacher training certification. I taught for 10 years in various capacities in elementary schools and a university college. My love of theology and religious education really developed when I completed a M. Th. in 20th century Systematic Theology at Heythrop College, London. You have probably never heard of my high school (Canon Palmer!) but you will be familiar with St. Louis University where I completed a Masters of Arts in Theology with a specialization in Religious Education! I am the 'forever student' with a passion for religious education. I have enjoyed teaching in several schools and parishes in St. Louis either as a classroom teacher or in the role of Director of Religious Education. I am really looking forward to my eighth year at St. Gerard Majella.

Mission

As a Religion teacher, my goal is to provide the students with an environment that encourages their faith to deepen, enabling their enquiring minds to flourish and grow in the knowledge of their faith.
