Dear Parents,

I am asking for some help from you to talk with your children about respect and listening the first time they are told by an adult. It is not everyone, but some of the children refuse to follow adult directions, when they are asked to stop, quit, or don't. I have many concepts to finish teaching them before 2nd grade and it is imperative that they are focused and listening respectfully. I appreciate all of your help with this matter.

We accomplished a lot of work this week. We have been writing cinquain poems this week. The children had fun writing a silly story, that was not real. Our Super Kids book is full of writing activities each week. The children are very good at sticking to a topic, while they are writing.

We are working on analog and digital clocks this week. We are learning time to the hour and the half hour on both types of clocks. We have learned that an hour later is when the minute hand goes around the clock, from wherever it started! We are becoming experts! Keep practicing those math facts! BE SURE TO TURN IN YOUR ORANGE SHEET EACH WEEK AS THAT IS HOMEWORK. WHEN YOU DO NOT TURN IT IN, YOU ARE NOT TURNING IN HOMEWORK AND IT IS ENTERED AS A “0” IN THE GRADEBOOK!

A letter was sent home today about the wild animal report, which is due on or before May 3.

In Religion we are learning about the Fruits of the Holy Spirit. It is a perfect topic to discuss for Lent. I am encouraging a lot of prayer, kind words, inclusion of other friends, and being grateful for what we have.

I have listed a few April dates, below, for your information.

We will be getting a save the date for the first grade May field trip next week.

Have a wonderful Easter weekend.

KIndly,

Cindy Dunning
