Aka.ms/mfasetup is a complete security enhancement that allows you to present at least two evidences or factors for your identity when logging into an account. This is a way of verifying your identity using a combination of two different factors -

How to get verification code ?


This method works fine using your registered or associated mobile number with aka.ms/mfasetup. Once you have activated this method, whenever you log in from a new device or browser, you will also receive a verification code (one-time password) via SMS or call which will allow you to log in will allow to do.

How to activate aka.ms/mfasetup ?


  • The first step is to visit aka.ms/mfasetup.

  • Select Mobile App from the option.

  • Click the option to receive notification.

  • A new set up button will appear with a QR code.

  • Download Microsoft Authenticator from the play store on your phone or tablet.

  • Log in on the app and grand camera permission to open a QR code.

How to reset aka.ms/mfasetup after replacing your device?


If you've lost your phone or replaced your phone, you can reset your information to receive your MFA verification code. This process mainly works for Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Azure and Office 365.


  • Sign in to the cloud service through the administrator login credentials.

  • Next, open a new tab on your browser and go to aka.ms/mfasetup.

  • Check the box next to the administrator MFA you want to reset. Click "Manage User Settings".

  • Tap on the username from which the device is changed and simply enter the new phone information.

  • After entering, select the "Save" button. Now, Microsoft will send the verification code to your new phone.
