Welcome! “Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.”

Carl Sagan

Welcome to Chemistry, Physics and Engineer Your World Advisory at Set High.

I have three goals in teaching... 1) Prepare students to be successful in their career path via college, the military or specialized training; 2) Encourage students to be productive citizens and 3) Keep each student safe. (We do lots of experiments and demos, and safety is key.)

In the menu to the left are links to each of my classes. The Schedule page includes dates for upcoming tests, quizzes, projects, plus a list of units covered each semester. Physics Phun, Chem Chorner and Engineering Notes are pdf versions of the daily warm-up activities and all Promethean Board notes from class. For the science classes the Lessons pages contain the PowerPoint presentations from class. Resources are links for further topic exploration and resources for additional help with course material. Finally the Syllabus page includes a copy of each class' syllabus.

Science is filled with incredible, dynamic, wonderful (and a few mundane) things to be discovered. Bubble, explode, change, whirl, zap, travel, amplify, create, conserve, are all verbs we use in the world of science and engineering. I love science and I love to help others discover the fun and wonder of this field.

I believe each student can be successful in my class. Hard work is rewarded. Laughter and fun help us learn. And... Respect is key in class and in life.
