Ink Splatter Effect Portraits

Today, we will learn how to make a super awesome ink splatter effect!!!

Step 1: Download the ink splatter brush by clicking the link below:

Step 2: Click FREE download!

Step 3: Click on the arrow, then click SHOW IN FINDER

Step 4: Double click on the ZIP file

Step 5: Then DOUBLE click the .ABR

Find the Brush_Ink Splatter folder in Downloads. CLICK ON THE ABR. then click OPEN.

Step 1: NOW OPEN PS

Step 2: Create a new blank canvas 8x10 in 300ppi

Step 3: Click on your brush tool and find your... SPLATTER BRUSH!

Step 4: You now have the brushes, use these to make your ink splatter.

Step 1: After you've made your ink splatter, now drag in a portrait you have taken!

Step 2: Use the quick selection tool to select just the face/ shoulders.

Step 3: Click the mask button at the bottom of your layers (hint: looks like a camera icon)

Step 1: Click the blending mode drop down (hint: look for the word NORMAL)

Note: you may need to rotate (Command and T) your image and change the size (hold the shift key down).

Step 2: Now click on the ADJUSTMENT LAYER ICON (hint: half circle icon)

Step 3: SAVE as JPEG
