Find a location with empty background
make sure you can see a strong shadow
Perfect exposure!
Sharp focus!
Thoughtful composition!
Take photo of model doing a fun and interesting action!
Now have the subject do a different action so the shadow is different!
DO NOT
move the camera
do not change the exposure
move the location of the model's feet!
STEP 1: Place the photo with the SHADOW you are going to use in PS
STEP 2: Now, drag the photo of the person's action above it
TOP LAYER: model's action
BOTTOM LAYER: shadow's action
STEP 3: Click on the top layer (model's action), make the layer's opacity approximately 50%
STEP 4: Use the move tool on the top layer to adjust the photo so the FEET LINE UP!
STEP 5: Once they are lined up, put your opacity back to 100%
STEP 6: Click ON the TOP LAYER and add a mask
(hint: camera-like icon a the bottom of layers)
STEP 7: Using a soft, black paint brush, brush over the shadow area...
STEP 8: Make sure to adjust sizing so the shadows meet/align perfectly!
