Pair up and take a portrait of your partner in the overly dramatic, over the top distressed look... make sure they are not laughing!
Open an image you took of your partner
Make a new ADJUSTMENT LAYER (half circle) > Black and White
Press Command/CTRL and E to flatten the two layers- you should now only have one, black and white layer

5. Duplicate the now black and white background layer (Command/ctrl J)
6. Select the duplicated background layer.
7. Go to Filter > Pixelate > Color Halftone
Make sure you have: Image > Mode> RGB
8. Set the radius at 10-25
- Radius = 10 - 25 (try both and see the difference, then choose your preference! Remember command/ctrl z to undo!)
Channel 1 = 108
Channel 2 = 162
Channel 3 = 90
Channel 4 = 45

9. Add a new blank layer.
NOTICE: dotted layer turned off
10. Set the layer's blending mode to MULTIPLY.
11. Paint each of the following using a HARD, 100% opacity, normal mode brush
EYES
MOUTH
TEARS
SKIN
BACKGROUND
SHIRT

12. Create ANOTHER NEW BLANK layer ABOVE THE PAINTED COLOR LAYER. Paint in a small, hard, black brush OUTLINES of the person including:
hair
eye lashes
jaw/nose/ears
tears
hands and other details

13. The order of your layers should be from top to bottom:
line work
painted layer, blending mode MULTIPLY (see above photo for example)
color halftone layer
original layer

14. Using the custom shape tool, add a word bubble or thought bubble and a school appropriate message!
