What is onomatopoeia?
Words that are made based on the sound they are associated with.
For example: POW, BOOM, SMACK
We will learn how to make your own cartoon pop art "sound" image.
Directions:
Open PS.
File > New > 8 in by 10 in at 300 ppi
Use you paint bucket tool to fill your background with a BRIGHT COLOR.
4. Go to your Custom Shape tool
5. Click your shape tool and make sure it is the starburst shape.
6. Pick a BRIGHT color for FILL and a different bright color for STROKE. Make your stroke between 3 and 5 points.
7. Click and drag the shape on your background to make your starburst.
8. Add a drop shadow to your starburst.
9. Go to FILTER > PIXELATE > COLOR HALFTONE to add dots to the shape!
10. Continue this to add TWO more shapes to layer! Try different colors and strokes!
11. Select the text tool.
12. Pick another bright color and a bold font. Type your onomatopoeia.
13. File > save a copy > JPG and submit on Canvas
NOTE: in order to receive credit, you MUST turn in a SCREENSHOT of your layers
along with your finished onomatopoeia!!!
