STEP ONE: Take a CLOSE UP portrait of your partner then open it in PS!
STEP TWO: Make a new blank layer. You will paint on this layer...

- 100% opacity
STEP FOUR: Pick a color and paint your color over the element/part you are painting.

- LIPS
- EYE LIDS
- EYES/ IRIS... not the white part of the eye!!!
- SKIN (cover the eyebrows, nostrils)
- HAIR (not the eyebrows)
- SHIRT
- BACKGROUND
STEP SIX: Make the top layer a threshold adjustment layer...
- Hold down control and click on the threshold layer > select create clipping mask
STEP SEVEN: Make sure your layers look like this:
Confused? Look at Ms. Friv's pictured example above:
- Top layer: THRESHOLD with CLIPPING MASK
- Middle layer: Original Portrait on MULTIPLY (blending mode)
- Bottom layer: Your painted layer- normal blending mode

- and painted layer (layer 1) on bottom!
STEP EIGHT: FILE > SAVE A COPY
STEP NINE: You can adjust the HUE by selecting "Adjust Colors" on the menu bar when hovering over your image. Then select new colors so it has totally different colors than the original you made. Then, Save a Copy and REPEAT!
STEP TEN: Repeat these steps so you have a total of 9 images, 3x3 grid!

- Once you have NINE then place them in a grid, and save as ONE image to submit... You can use the placement guide below if you need to!

You can also play with brightness/contrast in adjustment layers
