What is your favorite song? Book? Poem? Newspaper? Article? Essay?
Choose a piece of writing that is important for you.
You are going to use that piece of writing in your piece, so make sure it is long.
You have multiple options for how you feel it is best to incorporate your words into your piece.
Your piece will contain 2 subjects:
the person
the words
Here are some examples of how to represent your piece.
Think about the meaning of your piece and think of the best way to represent it!
You could turn an image into threshold and apply a writing layer!
Using the pen tool, apply different effects to the text to create a portrait!
1. threshold the image
2. add the writing
3.blend/overlay layers
think of cencorship and redaction. How does that effect us and what we know? Who redacts? What is redacted?
Load the words as background
Load your image above
on a 3rd layer, use brush tool to paint and "redact"
Physically apply the writing your subject. Paint of glue the words on!
Draw, write on the face BEFORE photographing.
Using the pen and text tool, you can type along the edge/border of your subject
Make sure you piece is at least 11x14 in 300 ppi.
