When we use film, we have a certain amount of images per roll. To print each picture out would be super expensive and take a long time! To save money, time, and be able to decide which images were worth printing, we use CONTACT SHEETS.
What a great way to look at a lot of images at once!
Why is it called a contact sheet? Normally, images were projected onto the paper with magnification and light. All the film is place DIRECTLY onto the paper (in contact with the paper) and printed!
Place all your images you want to view into ONE folder on your desktop and name it "Contact Sheet".
If you are using your MONOCHROME photos, then make sure you have all your photos in a folder labeled "Monochrome"
Open PS
Go to File> Automate> Contact Sheet ll
folder
choose > your folder
adjust the columns and rows as needed
up to you if you want to include the file names
click ok!
be patient, wait a minute or so,
Your Photoshop will appear to freak out, but don't worry, it's just doing its thing. Keep waiting...
Submit your contact sheet as a JPEG to Canvas for grading!
