Part 1: Review

It's review time!

Remember the Principles of Design and Elements of Art?

They are the building blocks of all the arts!

Part 2: Photos

Next, choose TWO terms (one EoA and one PoD), then go out and take take photos that represent each chosen term. Aim for at least 7 (more is better) per word, think about combining your term with other elements/principles for a dynamic photo.

*Make sure your camera format is set to JPEG not RAW.

Part 3: Photoshop

Load up your photos and place them into a folder titled the term you chose. (two folders)
Take one of your EoA or PoD terms
Open an 10x8 PS document 300ppi
Place your images into your PS doc.
Try to place them next to each other and aim for 1-2 images for each letter.
Once you have your images placed in an order you like, select the layers and combine them into one layer.

7. Create a new text layer (horizontal type mask tool). Pick a LARGE font that fills the space and matches your word's essence and type the name of the word you chose.

8. Hold command to resize/move the text.

9. Select the move tool

10. Create a new mask and...

TAH- DAH!

Now, do it AGAIN with your other chosen term, AND combine with an effective and balanced background image to create a message piece.

What I'm looking for: the text message should be the predominant part of your image, with the background image supporting it. Use fading, contrast or other effects as necessary to adjust the background in order to highlight the text. Submit your favorite as a JPEG to Canvas to be graded.
