Color Study

Today, we are going to create a series of images that are linked through color.

COLOR THEORY REVIEW : primary and secondary colors, analogous, monochromatic, complimentary, psychology of color...

Pick a color
Pick 8 (or more) of the options below (make your own options too!)

Submit all 8 to canvas (layout AND individually)

Pick a color, keep it secret..

Write about the color without being cliche, giving it away, or describing with items that are the same color.

Example: smells like, looks like, feels like to the touch, tastes like, emotes?

Complimentary Colors

Complimentary colors are opposite on the color wheel and really pop when used together!

Selective color

Using selective color to emphasize the color you want to POP

Black and White

do you prefer high contrast? low contrast? painting color in where you want?

Color Palette

Choose your favorite image, then suing the color picker, create a color palette based on your image

Include darker hues to brighter hues

Advertisements

the image could be of an item of that color, or with that color as the dominant color in the image

Include text that let's me know the intended company like the image above.

Food

Apply shallow depth of field, rule of thirds, rule of odds, do NOT give me an empty background, set it up!

Abstract

Abstract the image so it is all color. For example: close up, abstract, bokeh

Pick an item that is that color and photograph it in a well created out set.

Mood

Photograph the mood of that color, use items to represent the mood...
