I am Mrs. Snow, the Media Specialist in the library. Usually, you hear me talk about books. Today, we are talking about the art on a book!
Look at the cover of Dear Martin. Based on the image, what can you learn about Martin or the story?
Well, you have to read the book to find the answer.
I'm sharing this with your because today YOU are going to make art like the image on the cover.
Step 1. Create your profile.
Let's start with the question, what is a profile?
Want to make your own profile silhouette with your phone? Take your friend outside, and sit in his/her shadow. Looking up, take a photo that looks like this:
Or, take a photo against a solid white background:
Step 2:
Take photos of symbols that are important to you.
EX: a map of your country
places at school, food, colors, flowers, pets
Be sure to email the photos to yourself so you'll have them for Friday on the Media Center.
Combining the images in Photoshop:
By isolating an object we will use layers and blend modes to create original overlays:
