The basic concepts that make us free are our natural, or God-given rights.
These include life, liberty and property.
"The sole object and only legitimate end of government is to protect the citizen in the enjoyment of life, liberty and property, and when the government assumes other functions it is usurptation and oppression." - Article I, sec. 35 Alabama Constitution
What is Liberty?
The Dictionary defines Liberty as:
- The right and power to act, believe, or express oneself in a manner of one's own choosing.
- The condition of being physically and legally free from confinement, servitude, or forced labor.
- A right or immunity to engage in certain actions without control or interference: the liberties protected by the Bill of Rights.
- Freedom from unjust or undue governmental control.
Government is out of control, and HAS been out of control for a long time. Incrementalism is slowly eating away at our future.
We are responsible for our community/society. The ills of our neighborhoods and city rest upon our own shoulders. We MUST take responsibility, personal responsibility, before we can ever hope to obtain liberty.
