About Me: I received my Ph.D. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where I also completed my Master's Degree in English in 2004. My research draws from the fields of English, rhetoric, composition, education, sociology, philosophy, and literacy studies to focus on successful ways of teaching writing to all students, regardless of their background in English.
From 2002-2009 I taught a variety of English courses at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, working primarily with students who came to the school through an open-admissions program. I taught at South Seattle Community College from Fall 2010 to Spring 2013, and am excited to have begun teaching at Seattle Central in Fall 2013.
