On this site you will find information about 8th grade science with Mrs. Reed at PTMS.

In our classroom this year, we will focus on the way scientists think, gather data, make claims, and support them with evidence, all the while learning our 8th Grade Science Content Standards; this is called inquiry- oriented science instruction, which engages students in the investigative nature of science. Topics investigated will include: how to think scientifically, forces and motion, energy, waves, the chemistry of materials, and astronomy. We will also be weaving engineering practices and human impact activities throughout each unit. A major emphasis will be on developing skills necessary for scientific inquiry, literacy and use of technology.
