Sketchup 3-D Modeling

After you finish each assignment, show your final product to Mr. Jenkins

1. Watch SketchUpVideo Tutorials Part 1. While you are watching, create the house along with the tutor. While the video is 10 minutes long, this will take you longer than 10 minutes! You will need to pause the video and go back until you get every step correct. Save the final project as "Last Name SketchUp Tutorial #1".

2. Complete SketchUp Design Exercise 1. Make a basic house following the directions given. Save the final project as "Last Name SketchUp Exercise #1".

3. Watch SketchUpVideo Tutorials Part 2. While you are watching, create the house along with the tutor. While the video is 8.5 minutes long, this will take you longer than that amount of time! You will need to pause the video and go back until you get every step correct. Save the final project as "Last Name SketchUp Tutorial #2".

4. Watch SketchUpVideo Tutorials Part 3. Work along with the tutor to create the interior of the house. You can stop at 11:45 if the warehouse function is not working.

5. Complete SketchUp Final Exterior Assignment. After learning how to use SketchUp and working through a number of tutorials and exercises to further develop your skills, you will now create your own design from scratch, choosing from the several options. Save the final project as "Last Name SketchUp Final Exterior Assignment".

6. Complete SketchUp Design Exercise 2. ONLY DO THIS IF YOU ARE DONE WITH #5 - your Final Exterior Assignment.

When you are done with #1-6, there are two Bonus activities:

1. Google SketchUp Tessellation

2. Google SketchUp Soccer Ball

Accessing your project from home: If you would like, you should be able to access your H Drive (where your project is stored) by going to: files.sduhsd.net. Your login should be the same as your computer login at school. If you download SketchUp at home you should be able to open it up at home. You are not required to work on any project at home, so if you are unable to access it, that is not a problem. You will have plenty of class time to complete any projects.
