All students of Carmel Valley Middle School will participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) standardized testing this beginning in May 2017. Students will participate in both English Language Arts and Math assessments developed by the Smarter Balance Assessment Consortium, often referenced as SBAC. Eighth grade students will take the California Standards Test (CST) for Science as well. There is no testing for 7th grade Science classes. The general schedule for testing at CVMS is detailed below. All assessments will be administered during normal bell schedules and will be completed in the classroom of the subject being tested. For example, when a student is taking the ELA assessment, they will do so in their English class.
