Effective communication is essential as we work together this year so please keep the following in mind:
Birthdays are terrific and we want birthday kids to feel special!
Have your child bring in 25 easy to hand out treats to share with the class, as well as previous teachers, the principals and specialists.
Volunteering- I welcome your expertise and appreciate your support!
Please join our class for field trips and class parties if your schedule allows. When we are working on a special project or something special is happening at school, I will invite you to join us via email and flyer. If you'd like to speak to the class about your career, please let me know. Be aware that all school volunteers must have clearances on file with the district's Human Resources. Visit this link to update your clearances!
Star of the Day- Students in our class signed up to be the official Shining Star of Room 226.
I say “official” because each student is a shining star every day! This builds community and helps us get to know each child on a deeper level. The schedule will be sent home the second week of school, but let me know if you need to be reminded of the date.
Water and Snacks- Students should bring in water bottles and a healthy snack that can be eaten in class.
Please do not send in any other liquid other than water. Reusable water bottles labeled with your child’s name would be preferable because the consumable plastic ones are often played with and can be noisy and annoying for classmates. Also, send in a healthy snack each day that can be enjoyed in the morning before specials.
Behavior Expectations - At Erdenheim, we believe in Spartan P.R.I.D.E., which stands for Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dependability, and Empathy.
Under this school-wide umbrella, I expect students to be leaders at school. Our classroom rules are to PROTECT and RESPECT each other’s body, feelings, property, and chance to learn. We talk about what these mean and how each of these looks in the classroom. We have a classroom economy that not only helps students learn about economy, but also as an incentive for exemplary school behavior. Students can earn our classroom money that they can use on Market Days.
