If your child has a Chromebook that was issued by the School District, please bookmark this page.  We will update parents/guardians with important updates, tips, and tricks regarding Chromebook use and care.  Please remember to email if you have any questions or concerns regarding the Chromebooks.

December 2, 2016: Forgotten devices
Now that we are 3 months into the school year, we would like to remind students that the Chromebook is now an integral part of your learning experience.  Teachers are expecting you to bring your Chromebook fully charged every day! We do not have enough loaners in the Middle School to guarantee every student will have access to a device if you forget yours.  Please develop a system of reminders so that you don't leave home without your Chromebook.  Make those reminders even more clear on weekends and long breaks.
P.S.  Thank you to all of you who have remembered your Chromebook every day for the first 60 days of school!!

November 29, 2016: Filtering at home
The South Milwaukee School District IT department is dedicated to providing safe, continuous access to internet resources for all of our students and staff. So, beginning this Wednesday, November 30, all Chromebooks will be filtered outside of our network.  When students take devices home, the Chromebook will automatically connect to the filter by accessing a specific website and will provide the same access you have at school.  The website that will open will show a message similar to the one below.  As the message states, this will provide 8 hours of access from the time the page was loaded.  When those 8 hours run out, you will just need to reload that page.

If you are outside the school network and cannot access the internet at all, please visit this site:
By refreshing that link, you will be automatically granted 8 more hours of internet access.
