Honoring education leaders, schools and programs that use dynamic educational technology and practices to prepare San Diego County students to thrive in a competitive workforce, the Classroom of the Future Foundation hosted its 16th Annual Innovation in Education Awards on May 22nd at SeaWorld San Diego.
San Diego CUE, as a sponsor of the event, presented two awards. One was presented to Kelli Mocny, SDCUE's Innovative ToSA of the Year from Oceanside. Marisa Thompson of Carlsbad received SDCUE's Innovative Teacher of the Year. Each received a $1,000 stipend, a beautiful clock plaque, and a huge fake check to make their friends jealous.
Additionally, Adina Sullivan-Marlow, CUE Board of Directors, was recognized as the Classroom of the Future Foundation Innovative Educator. Adina, former SDCUE Board member (we knew her when...), received this well-deserved award for her contributions to both San Marcos Unified, where she is the Ed Tech Coordinator, and the San Diego community through her involvement with CUE, SDCUE, and the founding of EquityEDU.

SDCUE wants your voice!
We would love to feature your insights in an upcoming blog post! Share a best practice, pose a question, explore a topic, or start a movement!
- Diversity is key! We want diversity in authors, background, and your role in education. Your voice matters!
- Ideally, posts are 500-1000 words. If you feel your post needs to be longer, talk to us first.
- Captivate us! Use personality, real stories, and engagement. Just like in our classrooms, blog posts that are dry and super academic are not the most exciting to read.
- Think Open! Before you share a tool or an app, think to yourself: is it free and cross-platform? If not, try to provide a comparable free alternative.
