Mathematics

The Springdale School District in partnership with parents and community will provide a quality educational environment which will enable all students to learn the skills and acquire the knowledge necessary for them to become contributing members of society and meet the challenges of an ever-changing world.

In the area of Mathematics, instruction is designed to support Common Core Standards of Mathematical Practice and Grade Level Standards. Students develop deep mathematical understandings of properties of operations in relation to mathematical numeracy through rich, problem posing tasks in Number and Operations, Measurement, Data and Statistics, Algebra, Geometry, and Proportional Reasoning. The Mathematics curriculum is centered on developing students who can make sense of problem and persevere in solving them, reason abstractly and quantitatively, construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others, model with mathematics, use appropriate tools strategically, attend to precision, look for and make use of structure, and express regularity in repeated reasoning.
