The Springdale School District in partnership with parents and community will provide a quality educational environment which will enable all students to learn the skills and acquire the knowledge necessary for them to become contributing members of society and meet the challenges of an ever-changing world.
In the area of Language Arts, our curriculum documents are designed to support the units described in the Common Core Curriculum Maps (English Language Arts). Students develop literacy skills and deep comprehension of various pieces of text through structured units of study connecting diverse events, people, places, and ideas. The Language Arts curriculum is centered on developing students that can demonstrate independence, build strong content knowledge, comprehend as well as critique, value, evidence, come to understand the perspectives of others, respond to varying demands of audience, task, purpose, and discipline, and come to understand other perspectives and cultures, as outlined in the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy.
