Curriculum & Instruction
The Division of Curriculum and Instruction manages the program of study for each curriculum area. Program areas include: Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Fine Arts, CTE, GT, SPED, Library Media, Physical Education, Federal Programs, English Language Learners and Assessment. Creating models and systems to support the design and delivery of curriculum, assessment processes, program evaluation, and program innovations fall within the supervision of the division.
A major focus is capacity building of teachers and administrators. Professional development activities are designed, resources are procured and professional development is evaluated.
The division supports the work of each classroom so that each student receives a challenging and rigorous learning experience based on the learning standards as defined by the Arkansas Department of Education. Support for teaching and learning includes print and digital sources as well as other hands-on learning materials as needed in science, fine arts, social studies, physical education, etc.
