Welcome back to an exciting new school year!

 Independent Reading

Students are required to read inside and outside of class. Students should select books that truly interest and engage them. Students will build reading stamina, will increase their fluency and comprehension as well as practice skills we are studying in class.

Students are expected to bring their independent reading book to class every day.

·         Literature Circles

·         Class novel, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry

Homework will be given in language arts and reading. It is my expectation that 100% effort is put forth into all assignments. If homework is turned in late, it will be accepted but not given full credit.

Every night students should read and/or work on independent reading selection assignments-30 minutes per night.
