Welcome back to a new school year! Seventh grade promises to be an exciting and productive year. We are already off to a busy start having learned new rules, procedures and expectations. We've also set up and organized our binders, embarked on increasing vocabulary by creating a word wall, written two reflections, tackled our first Word Study lesson, and have started reviewing stages of plot, genres and reading strategies.
This week's due dates: (Week of September 8th)
  • Weekly Word Study lesson on Analogies, homework due
    Wed., 9/9 - Quiz on Thurs., 9/1
  • MAP Testing on Friday, 9/11 and Monday, 9/14
Due dates for the week of September 14th:
  • Weekly Word Study lesson Etymology, homework due Thursday, 9/17, Quiz on Friday, 9/1
  • Vocabulary Quiz on Friday, 9/18
  • Reading Workshop Journal Packet due next Tuesday, 9/22

Students should be reading at home or outside of the classroom every evening  for a minimum of 20 minutes per day. The benefits are many: to increase reading stamina, comprehension, fluency, vocabulary enrichment, and of course, enjoyment.
**Please check my calendar for any additional updates on homework or assignments. Have a great week!
