Second Call for Candidates

Second Call for Candidates
“Lately, it occurs to me…what a long, strange trip it’s been.”
Truckin’ by the Grateful Dead

A long, strange trip, indeed. We hope you and yours are staying safe and well.
As a Sun City West social club, The Boomers Club still is not hosting events and we don’t yet know when, if, or how we will resume. Your Board is working with management on ways to continue the fun.

None of us know what the future may bring this summer, in the fall, or beyond. We all hope this long, strange trip will end and we can once again let the good times roll.

One thing we do know…for our Club to continue in 2021, we must have officers. Our election will be held in November. That may seem a long, perhaps winding road ahead, but it’s not too soon to think about your role with our Club. We will need to elect a president, vice-president, treasurer and secretary, and we also may have some appointed positions open (i.e. Events Coordinator, etc).

The November General Membership Meeting when we elect our new officers will probably not be held in person. Instead, we will utilize the app ZOOM for our meeting and voting. Zoom can be downloaded on your electronic device (phone, iPad, tablet, or computer). You may want to download the app early in preparation for the meeting. Detailed instructions will be distributed to membership prior to the meeting.

Is it your turn to step up? Do you want to help guide us in returning to our “old normal”, or to whatever our “new normal” will be?

Don’t know what’s involved? Please feel free to contact any of the current Board members or you can contact Martha Sargent, Chair of our 2021 Nominating Committee (martha.sargent@yahoo.com). Plus, check out our Bylaws and Procedures Manual on the Business tab of our website.

How about it? Ready to help lead the future of our Club?
