The Counseling Office will host the 2018 College and Career Fair on Thursday, April 19th from 9:00-10:30 am in the Lilac Gym. Please see the attached list of colleges that are sending representatives.

Financial Aid Workshop

Hudson Valley Community College is offering a free Financial Aid workshop on Wednesday, April 11th at 6PM  in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center (meeting room 1), 80 Vandenburgh Ave., Troy, NY 12180.

Staff will be on hand to help with filling out the FAFSA as well as answer questions on eligibility and how to apply for federal/state aid and scholarships. All families are welcome, not just those considering Hudson Valley.

The State University of New York is hosting a first ever SUNY Expo for high school juniors and their families on Sunday, April 22 at the Albany Capital Center from 1:00-3:30pm.

The Expo will include a College Fair with over 35 different SUNY campuses as well as presentations. Representatives from the Financial Aid office, Educational Opportunity Program, Students with Disabilities, and more will be on hand.

Local Scholarships now available!

The following local scholarship applications are now available in the Counseling Office:

Robert Ryan Quinn Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to a senior who plans on attending college and majoring in Mathematics or Education.
Volleyball Booster Club Scholarship: Awarded to 

a graduating senior who participated in the Stillwater Volleyball program.

Cindy Zagorski Memorial Scholarship:

Awarded to a graduating senior pursuing a teaching career.

Baseball/Softball Booster Club Scholarship: Applicants must be seniors currently participating in baseball or softball.

Basketball Booster Club Scholarship: Awarded to a graduating senior who participated in Basketball or Cheerleading during senior year.

Football Booster Club Scholarship: Awarded to one senior player and one senior cheerleader.

Coach John Villa Scholarship: Awarded to a graduating senior who was involved in any sport.

Mark Mondoux Basketball Scholarship: Applicants must be seniors who have been associated with basketball. (Example: cheer, manager, etc.)

Pete Brown Scholarship: Awarded to a senior who has participated in sports and exhibits leadership and sportsmanship qualities.

Stillwater PTA Community Awareness Scholarship: Awarded to graduating senior(s) who have a strong sense of community involvement and volunteerism.

Stillwater Teachers’ Association Scholarship: Awarded to a senior continuing his/her education.

CSEA Unit 8453 Scholarship: Awarded to a graduating senior who is a child of a CSEA member.

SAT Test prep at Stillwater High School

Capital District Consulting will be holding SAT prep courses at Stillwater High School on April 17, 19, 24, 26 May 1, 3 from 7:00-9:00pm. The course fee is $175.

We the Students Essay Contest is open to any 8-12th grade student. The topic is "To what extent in the US does the government-federal, state, and local-have the duty to monitor internet content?"

If you would like to participate and win cash prizes, stop into the counseling office. The essay contest ends on February 5, 2018.

Scheduling meetings

College Visit
