  "Living" Wax Museum
Presented by 5th grade GT class
The 5th grade Gifted and Talented class brought a little bit of history back to the future with their “living” wax museum.  The event was held in the elementary school library on December 7.  Students chose to research a historical figure who has made a significant impact or played an important role in history.  They were required to research the subject, complete a display board, create a costume to wear and share their findings through a brief, memorized speech.  All 3rd-6th grade classes toured the event and listened to each character’s life story simply by pushing a button!

SPACE ADVENTURES in the Elementary
In GT class, K-2 students have been learning about space.  Kim Cook, GT Coordinator, invited Dr. Curtis Varnell of the Western Arkansas Educational Cooperative to visit our school and present his Space Adventure Program.  Students watched a video to see what space looks like from a space shuttle, ate some space food and drank tang from a pouch and a few of them even got to put on a space suit.  Dr. Varnell also took the students outside and demonstrated various rocket models.
