Open Educational Resources (OER)

What are OER?

Open educational resources (OER) are teaching, learning, and research resources that are copyright-free or have been released under a copyright license that permits others to reuse, revise, remix and redistribute them.

Examples of OER include: full courses, course modules, syllabi, lectures, homework assignments, quizzes, lab and classroom activities, pedagogical materials, games, simulations, and many more resources contained in digital media collections from around the world.

Get Involved with SCC's OER Committee

The purpose of the committee is to support the strategic adoption, development, and use of Open Educational Resources at Scottsdale Community College and to provide counsel, support, inspiration and example for OER at SCC.

The committee meets monthly during the fall and spring semesters on the first Tuesday of the month from 2p-3:30p and membership may require time of participation during summer and interim periods.
