crafts, ornaments, baking, logs, wreaths etc in aid of charity.

Clodiagh Gaels Football Champions visit

posted Dec 3, 2018, 2:27 PM by Owen Breslin

The victorious Clodiagh Gaels Junior Footballers visited Scoil Shinchill on the 9th of November. Team mentor Pat Cooney introduced the lads to the pupils and spoke to the boys and girls about the benefits of being involved in sport. Despite bringing in an impressive trophy, he told the boys and girls the main benefit of playing football was not winning cups but rather getting together with your friends to do something you love.
We are very grateful to the lads for taking time off work to visit us in school. Their positive message was very well received and we wish them well in next years championship.

Trick or Treat for Temple St

posted Oct 26, 2018, 1:13 AM by Owen Breslin

Halloween came a day early for Killeigh NS this year due to the presidential election. Pupils and staff arrived to school dressed up in a wide variety of different costumes as everyone joined in the fun. Pupils are encouraged if possible to try and recycle or make their own costumes and we were amazed with the creativity on show.  The boys and girls were given a special treat  after break time when the pupils of 6th class performed Michael Jackson's Thriller dance.  As well as being great fun for all concerned we always collect a small donation from everyone and this goes to the Trick or Treat for Temple St fundraiser. Thanks to Ms Molloy for coordinating this.

There is a small collection of photos below, however we hope to add to this in the next few days. There will be a separate report on the very successful cake sale which also took place yesterday.

On Wed 24th Oct, our girls football team took to the field in O'Connor park to take on the might of Ballinamere NS in their Cuman na mBunscoil final.

Our girls had put a huge effort into preparing for this final under the guidance of Ms Corcoran, Ms Kelly and Ms Dermody . The girls battled bravely throughout the game right on until the final whistle but unfortunately they came up against a very strong Ballinamere team. We congratulate Ballinamere on their victory.

We wish to thank everyone who helped the girls throughout the year. We thank everyone who came to the final to support the girls, our parents association who sponsored a post match get together at Supermacs and Declan Ward and everyone from Cuman na mBunscoil who work hard to make the finals days so enjoyable. A special thanks, goes to parent Phill Reilly for sharing his expertise with the girls in the run up to the final. Thanks also to Mary Byrne whose wonderful photography skills can be seen below.
