  • Killeigh Girls play in Croke Park Earlier this year, Tara Cleary and Jane Murray completed a fantastic double of girls football and camogie skills competition wins for Killeigh NS. As part of their prize the girls got a chance to play in Croke Park on one of the biggest days of the year. Tara played in the halftime match during the All Ireland football semi final between Galway and Dublin and Jane played on All Ireland hurling final day. Both girls played brilliantly on the day and we hope its the first of many occasions that the girls get to play in Croke Park.  (Photo credit - Sportsfile)

  • Retirement of Frankie Thomas- school caretaker Killeigh NS recently said goodbye to our school caretaker Frankie Thomas who has retired. Frankie was a very popular figure around the school and he will be greatly missed. Frankie carried out many jobs in order to keep the school going but perhaps his most important job (as far as countless boys and girls were concerned ) was retrieving footballs from over the ditch. His easygoing manner and affable charm made him popular with young and old alike and we wish him all the best in his retirement. At our recent sports day, a presentation was made to Frankie on behalf of the staff of the school and the Board of Management.
