Master of Science Program in Environmental Technology

This academic program is offered by the Department of Agro-Industrial, Food and Environmental Technology, King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB).

 

Program Highlight

The environmental technology master's degree program aims to produce high quality graduates who are competent in environmental technology and have potential to improve, monitor and evaluate the environmental quality using systematic and practical procedures.  The academic program offers an opportunity to expand a student's knowledge for developing solutions to solve environmental problems using multidisciplinary approaches. The graduates will be equipped with the skills to conduct environmental research as well as develop innovative environmental tools. The program objects to promote and develop research in the field of environmental technologies for sustainable development of economy, society and environment.

 

Program Description

The environmental technology program offers rigorous teaching and learning in both theoretical and practical classes as well as seminars. The program offers three educational plans which are the followings;

  • Plan A type AI: (Environmental Technology)
  • Plan A type AII: (Environmental Technology)
  • Plan B: (Environmental Management)

The thesis option (plan A type AI and type AII), designed for those interested in an in-depth research area in some particular topic, and a master project option (plan B) is also available.  All plans will be supervised by academic advisors and supervising committee members. Graduate students must complete a minimum of 36 credit hours of graduate-level courses in environmental field and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00 during the time of study. A maximum of 12 of these credit hours is for the thesis. The students in all educational plans must submit and present their thesis proposals and progress reports to the thesis committee members.  A thesis must be accepted by the thesis committee members, and a final oral defense of the thesis must be passed. Moreover, the graduate students will be required to give a research presentation in national and/or international conferences. To apply for graduation, students must submit at least one manuscript based on their theses for scientific publications.

Admission Requirements

  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or relevant area with a minimum GPA of 2.75 from an educational institutes certified by the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC) and by the Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC).
  • Both Thai and international students who can fluently communicate in Thai are welcomed to apply for the Environmental Technology programs. All the classes are taught in Thai and English.
