(Originally posted on 1/20/12) Well, it's been a busy month! After Fort Parker, we returned home for a few days before heading off to Massachusetts to help my parents move into independent living. It took nearly two weeks of work to get them unpacked, organized , decorated, and put away. The facility is great and it's only a few miles from lots of family. This was a great move for them. We plan to get there is the fall to visit with family and enjoy the fall foliage in New England. Back to the house. It went on the market on Monday, January 2. Check out the photo below to see the kind of sign it sported by that Friday! That's right. We had a purchase contract in five days! We're keeping our fingers crossed that the sale goes through as planned on February 17. Since then, we have been sorting, selling, giving away, and packing. We found a place to store the stuff that we are keeping, but won't be taking with us. It seems the pile grows by the minute. Between the trip up north and the packing, we're exhausted! This retirement stuff is not for sissies. In our spare time, we have been planning our trips, making reservations, and planning 'the big one' to Alaska. More on that later. |
