Step 5: Video Presentation Setup

The directions below apply to using WeVideo which is no longer available free. The video portion can prepared using the software of your choice.

• Start a new presentation in WeVideo

• Import Media (images)

  • Green cloud with up arrow

  • Choose Drive

  • Select images

    • Use Ctrl + Click to select multiple images at a time

• Reminders for reading your script.

  • Enunciate your words (speak clearly, slowly)

  • Speak with feeling

  • Speak loud enough to be heard on the recording.

  • Practice, practice, practice...

• Create Voice Recording

  • Click the microphone icon

  • Click the red microphone to begin recording

  • Click the checkmark to end recording

• Place Media (images) in Video 1 Timeline

  • Images should match your voice recording as planned in your storyboard script.

  • Adjust timing of image by dragging the image longer or shorter from either edge of the photo.

• Add Transitions

  • Click Transitions icon (gray and white box with diagonal split)

  • Transitions, movements and effects should enhance, not distract from the script.

  • Pick one transition to use throughout the trailer

• Add Text

  • Click Text icon

  • Choose best text option

  • Drag to desired location

  • Adjust length

  • Double click text to edit

• Add Sound (music)

  • Make sure all images are placed where you want them and framed the way you want.

  • Check animations and transitions are working the way you expect.

  • If you make changes in the presentation after you record the script, you will have to clear the narration and re-record. So finalizing the presentation before recording will save you time in the long run.

• Review the Video/Finish

  • Preview start to finish to make sure you are satisfied.

  • Click Finish

  • Only click finish when you are SURE THIS IS THE FINAL VIDEO.
