Two in-class exams will be given at times to be announced by your lecturer.  The approximate dates of these tests can be found on the Syllabus & Homework page.  Make-up exams are given at the discretion of each instructor.

Each exam will have a "Part I/Part II" component.  Part I questions will be chosen directly from a list of posted problems, linked in the table below.  Part I scores will also be recorded separately and used to determine borderline grades.  Students who do not complete the Part I portion of the exams at a successful pass rate (75%) may have their grade lowered by up to two steps (for example, from a C+ to a D).  Part II questions are not made available in advance.

The cumulative final examination will be given in the Math Group Final time and ordinarily will be the same for all sections, in contrast to the "midterm" exams.  The room for the final examination is generally not the room in which you have your regular lecture.
