Child Care Programs

The goal of our programs is to promote the physical, mental, social, and emotional development of each child by providing a high-quality child care program. Programs include a nutritious snack every day, outside play or indoor physical activity, crafts, special projects, and quiet times. We view the home, school, community, and child care settings as complementary and interrelated domains that affect children’s growth and development.

A list of all current child care and summer day camp programs is maintained in WebTrac, our online program registration service.  To learn more about current offerings or for a certain type of activity, click the link below.

School Child Care 2016-17

We provide before-school and after-school care to grades K-5 students and after-school care only for students in Grades 6-8.

For details regarding registration, billing and payments, child release, medication, discipline, and more, please be sure to review our 2016-17 handbook:

K-5 School-Age Child Care

Our School-Age Child Care program is designed to provide children in kindergarten through fifth grade a safe and exciting place to be during their out-of-school hours. We are a non-profit recreational program, complying with all of the rules for the licensing of child care facilities established by the State of Maine.

Club Teen After-School Program

The Club Teen program is designed to provide middle school students a safe and inviting place to be between 2:00 and 6:00 PM. Club Teen is located in the Middle School Cafeteria (and occasionally in the Applied Humanities Room or Narragansett Building), with time and space for homework, recreational activities, clubs, sports, as well as free time.

Child Care Registration 2016-17

  • Registrations for 2016-17 for all children will be accepted starting Monday, April 4. Household balances must be up to date.
  • When you stop by the Community Services Office to register, we will update all of your household and family member information in our system, have you sign a few waivers, and complete an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Form.  Remember to bring a voided check as we will not be able to complete the registration process without it.
  • A non-refundable registration fee of $100 will be expected upon registration.
  • Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Unless you have been notified that you have been placed on a waiting list, you are guaranteed a spot in the Child Care or Club Teen program.
  • There is a three-day wait period (three business days) if registering anytime after the first day of school in September (as long as spots are available).
  • Waiting lists for spots will be started and maintained as necessary for each site. Participants will be notified if they have been placed on a waiting list within one week of registering for the program.
