SBAAM's 8th Grade Boys visit St. Barnabas Hospital

The students toured St. Barnabas Hospital as part of the program.

They didn’t call out – they got called in.

The 80 teenagers, all eighth graders at the Hyde Leadership Charter School and South Bronx Academy for Applied Media (SBAAM), visiting St. Barnabas Hospital (SBH) on Tues., Dec. 16th, were not just on any tour.

Students at the South Bronx Academy for Applied Media got a pep talk from a panel of professional wrestling stars who shared tales of being picked on in school and overcoming adversity on their paths to the ring.

Bronx Girl Scouts take trip to Hudson Valley

Last week the Hudson Valley was home to 35 7th graders from South Bronx Academy for Applied Media Arts and on 45 6th grade girls from Bronx Mathematics Preparatory School. The girls had a chance to spend a day at Camp Kaufman, which is part of the Girl Scouts’ Career Exploration Program curriculum and a year-end event that will include a lot of “firsts” for these girls.
